Symbols of the South Series

This will be the second in a two-session series entitled “Symbols of the South Series” held at the Leviton Auditorium on the campus of Western Piedmont Community College.

The purpose of this series is to discern the truth and promote an ongoing dialogue between individuals in the region who hold opposing viewpoints. At this second session Dr. Cameron Lippard, Professor, and Chair of Sociology at Appalachian State University will present his research on the Confederate battle flag as a symbol of heritage and discord.

The session will begin at 7:00 pm. We could carpool and meet at 5:00 pm in Morganton for a meal together and then attend.
